Men's Health
Until recent years, men’s health took second place to women’s health, especially when dealing with preventative medicine. Now, however, the medical system has much more information to offer men.
More and more men are under pressure from society, their relationships, from children and from their work. In the process, many are neglecting their own health. Many still feel a responsibility to be strong for the family and be the boss, and feel that seeking help is a sign of weakness. However, an increasing number of men realise that they need advice or help regarding their health management and issues such as depression, anxiety and problems with addictions. It is vital that these men be encouraged to seek professional help for the stability of themselves, the family and society as a whole. Partners and close friends are in an excellent position to remind an individual that he hasn’t had his cholesterol tested, his blood pressure taken and can also suggest that men talk to their doctors about many other health factors such as stress, alcohol intake, insomnia, gambling, smoking and moodiness.
